Origin Materials and Revlon to jointly develop bio-based packaging for cosmetic products

Partnerships

  • Origin Materials, a carbon-negative materials manufacturer, has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with global cosmetics and hair and beauty products brand Revlon to jointly develop carbon-negative packaging for the latter’s cosmetic products.

  • The MoU includes the development and commercialization of sustainable materials for cosmetics packaging based on Origin’s patented technology platform. Revlon has also reserved commercial volumes (amount undisclosed) of Origin’s bio-based polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

  • For Revlon, this partnership will support the company’s goal to promote responsible and ethical sourcing practices to curb issues in the global supply chain.
