Origin Materials, a carbon-negative materials manufacturer, has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with global cosmetics and hair and beauty products brand Revlon to jointly develop carbon-negative packaging for the latter’s cosmetic products.
The MoU includes the development and commercialization of sustainable materials for cosmetics packaging based on Origin’s patented technology platform. Revlon has also reserved commercial volumes (amount undisclosed) of Origin’s bio-based polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
For Revlon, this partnership will support the company’s goal to promote responsible and ethical sourcing practices to curb issues in the global supply chain.
