upGrad, an online higher education platform, acquired Harappa Education, an online learning institution, for INR 3 billion (~USD 37.5 million) in a mix of cash and equity.
The company intends to integrate Harappa Education’s product offering into its existing suite. upGrad also stated that it aims to leverage the company’s expertise in enterprise learning in the B2B enterprise training and learning space.
Harappa Education offers content creation capabilities with Indian case studies, differentiating itself from other learning providers built on western case studies. The platform provides development programs equipped with interactive learning features, such as behavioral assessments, virtual workshops, and practice exercises. Additionally, the programs are mapped to “Thrive Skills,” a set of cognitive, social, and behavioral skills for professionals and teams. It currently serves more than 100 medium-sized to large organizations.
