Lightyear, a Netherlands-based solar EV pioneer, has entered into a technical partnership with Koenigsegg, a Swedish high-performance sports car manufacturer.
Under the partnership, the two companies will share their industry expertise and resources, for joint development of innovative EV technologies.
Lightyear will optimize Koenigsegg’s proprietary technologies to further improve the energy efficiencies of its second model, “Lightyear 2,” which is expected to enter mass market as early as the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: Lightyear has previously partnered with Valmet Automotive, a Finish EV manufacturer, to produce its “Lightyear 0”, the company’s flagship solar car which was launched in June 2022. The model is expected to be produced at Valmet Automotives’s manufacturing facility in Uusikaupunki, Finland and reach its first drivers later this year.</ul>
