Ottonomy IO raises USD 3.3 million in seed funding; launches “Ottobot 2.0”

Funding

  • Ottonomy IO, a delivery droid manufacturer, has raised USD 3.3 million in a seed funding round led by Pi Ventures with participation from Connetic Ventures and Branded Hospitality Ventures, along with the Founder & CEO of Addverb Technologies, Sangeet Kumar. This brings the company’s total capital raised to USD 4.9 million.

  • The company intends to utilize the funds to scale its operations to support fully autonomous deliveries to airport, retail, and restaurant partners.

  • Today, the company also announced “Ottobot 2.0,” the latest version of its delivery droid. The droids are equipped with 3D LiDAR sensors, multiple cameras, and safety sensors, and can navigate fully autonomously in both indoor and outdoor environments. Its four-wheel drive system facilitates directional mobility, allowing the droid to move sideways and make zero-radius turns.

  • Today, the company also revealed that it has started forming partnerships with multiple airports in the US and Europe following its successful pilot conducted at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) last December. Ottonomy IO is also reportedly working with Fortune 500 companies in the retail and restaurant industries across North America to deploy its units.
