Nomoo, a California-based burger joint that specializes in plant-based fast food, has partnered with one of the world's largest food and beverage manufacturers Nestlé to develop its own in-house brand of plant-based meats.
Together, the companies are expected to create a new line of vegan hamburger patties, plant-based chicken, and non-dairy cheese in view of Nomoo’s planned national expansion. The first Nomoo brand burger patty made using a pea-protein base is set to release in October 2022.
Founded in 2020, Nomoo initially had to shut down shortly after its launch due to Covid-19. As of August 2022, it has only one outlet but is looking for potential franchise partners. Currently, the company uses Beyond Meat patties, which is set to change following its collaboration with Nestlé.
