Persefoni, a SaaS platform for businesses and institutional investors to measure carbon footprints, entered into a strategic collaboration with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) and IBM Japan to provide carbon footprint data for Japanese companies.
In April 2022, some listed companies on the Tokyo Stock Exchange were mandated to disclose financial information in accordance with Climate-Related Financial Information Disclosure. Persefoni's AI-based Climate Management and Accounting Platform (CMAP) will be incorporated into SMBC. This allows SMBC to leverage Persefoni’s SaaS-based climate management and carbon accounting platform to calculate Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
Moreover, IBM Japan will further streamline Persefoni’s platform at SMBC, through the application of the IBM Garage methodology to develop a tool that further supports emission calculation and reporting processes.

Analyst QuickTake: Previously in July 2022, Persefoni also partnered with Carnrite Group , a management consultancy firm, to develop a footprint data services solution. This integrates Persefoni’s SaaS-based climate management and carbon accounting platform with Carnrite’s advisory and carbon accounting expertise.
