Reltime partners with IDEX Biometrics to develop biometric payment card

Partnerships

 • Reltime, a decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions provider, has partnered with fingerprint identification sensor developer IDEX Biometrics, to jointly develop and market a Web3 biometric payment card. The cards will also function as a digital assets wallet and cold storage device (an offline crypto storage device).

 • The companies anticipate launching the card in 1H 2023 which will enable EMV compliant payments along with Reltime’s check-out feature.

Analyst QuickTake: The news comes on the heels of Reltime raising a USD 50 million strategic investment two weeks ago which it intended to partially invest in introducing its biometric payment card. Moreover, in September last year, Reltime also partnered with Zwipe, a company offering biometric payment card inlays, to issue Zwipe Pay ONE (which uses IDEX’s fingerprint sensors) based biometric payment cards.
