In its Q2 financial and business update for the period ended June 30, 2022, Maryland-based quantum computing company IonQ reported revenue of USD 2.6 million, surpassing its forecasted revenue range (between USD 2.3 million and USD 2.5 million). It also secured contract bookings worth USD 0.6 million, much lower than forecasted (between USD 3 million and USD 5 million), mainly due to certain contracts taking more time to close than anticipated.
<ul><li> IonQ’s full-year 2022 forecasts remain the same as previously announced : revenue between USD 10.2 million and USD 10.7 million and contract booking expectations between USD 23 million and USD 27 million. As for Q3 2022, revenue is expected between USD 2.6 million and USD 2.9 million.</ul>
<ul><li>The company highlighted a few milestones for the quarter including the formation of two subsidiaries in Europe and Israel; achieving 23 algorithmic qubits (AQ) (previously 20 AQ) in its latest system Aria, which is available via Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure ; achieving 9 AQ in its Harmony system (previously 6 AQ); partnerships with GE Research , and University of Maryland; and paid contracts with Airbus and Dow to offer the Aria system.</ul>
