Industry news

  • Norway’s Research council has announced it will fund a five-year research project titled Arrival of Cellular Agriculture-Enabling Biotechnology for Future Food Production (ARRIVAL) for the development of cellular agriculture and precision fermentation to develop sustainable meat, egg, and milk products.

  • Backed by a EUR 2 million (~USD 2 million) annual budget, the project will be led by The Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Research (Nofima) with support from SINTEF Industry, Oslo Metropolitan University, the Norwegian Institute for Rural Research, the Norwegian Board of Technology, Nortura AS, and TINE AS.

  • Research will be focused on scaling up cell-based meat production and finding materials suitable to be used as a framework for muscle cells as well as developing suitable growth mediums.
