Peloton to sell fitness equipment and apparel on Amazon

Partnerships

 • Peloton, a connected fitness equipment manufacturer, has partnered with Amazon to offer selected Peloton fitness equipment and apparel via Amazon’s website to customers in the US. This marks Peloton’s first partnership with another retailer to sell its products.

Analyst QuickTake: Today’s partnership will help Peloton to widen its distribution channels and increase access to its products. The company has so far relied on its direct-to-consumer business model–relying on its website and retail stores for sales. Peloton is also in the process of a major restructuring against the backdrop of declining revenues and mounting losses . New CEO Barry McCarthy is at the helm of the company’s reorganization efforts and earlier this month announced more layoffs, store closures, prices hikes, and exiting last-mile distribution.
