Peloton introduces “Peloton Guide,” its first connected strength training product

Product updates

 • Connected fitness equipment manufacturer Peloton has launched its first connected strength training product named “Peloton Guide.” It will be available in the US and Canada from early 2022 and in the UK, Australia, and Germany later next year. This marks Peloton’s entry into the smart mirror fitness devices category.

 • The unit features a camera with machine learning capabilities to track user movements and progress. Instead of having a touchscreen mirror, it will connect to home TVs for users to access Peloton’s workout content library. However, members have to use their own exercise equipment such as weights and accessories. Peloton Guide enables users to compare and correct form when working out and recommends suitable classes based on individual traits.

 • Peloton Guide comes bundled with its heart rate monitor at prices starting from USD 495, making it Peloton’s most accessible product in the market. Users can subscribe to their workout classes including weightlifting and lunges for USD 12.99 per month.

Analyst QuickTake: Peloton is now the second connected fitness startup within our coverage to have launched a smart mirror where home TVs replace the most commonly attached touchscreen hardware. Earlier this month, Tempo introduced a similar home gym solution for USD 495, becoming the first to launch such a no-frills product. However, unlike Peloton Guide, Tempo’s unit comes equipped with weight plates and dumbbells, and uses camera technology in iPhones instead.
