REE Automotive, an Israeli provider of customizable four-wheel self-driving chassis platforms, and Navya, a France-based self-driving tech developer, have partnered to develop the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) Level 4 autonomous system (i.e., fully autonomous vehicles limited to specific locations and/or conditions). The pair aim to integrate the system with REEcorner technology and Navya’s self-driving solutions.
The two companies claim the tech will be developed with a competitive edge in quality, cost, and performance, complying with high safety standards.
REE Automotive provides the REEcorner technology platform that integrates all drive components into the arch of the wheel and the flat, modular chassis, which can be used as a battery or fuel a cell-powered vehicle. Its technology is used in autonomous delivery trucks, shuttles, and robotaxis. The platform enables the design of autonomous vehicles for a broad range of purposes, including last-mile delivery, Mobility-as-a-Service, mid-mile delivery, and medium-duty delivery, among others.
