Carbon, a seller of 3D printers and related products, has announced the acquisition of ParaMatters, a provider of software solutions for additive manufacturing, to expand its design capabilities. The terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
With the acquisition, Carbon’s software will include topology optimization–a process that identifies the most efficient design based on a set of characteristics. This will allow users to speed up the design iteration process and create complex, high-performance part designs.
