Desktop Metal upgrades Live Sinter software to improve sinter simulation capabilities

Product updates

  • Desktop Metal, a seller of 3D printers and related products, has announced an upgrade to its Live Sinter software–a sinter simulation software that allows the design of sinter-ready, printable parts.

  • The sinter software is now upgraded with scan-based adjustments and automated correction tools that allow users to fine-tune their design based on one or multiple scans. This improves part accuracy by maintaining deviations within +/- 0.3% as well as avoiding other challenges associated with sintering like distortion and warping while reducing the cost and time associated with supports.

  • This upgrade allows customers, without any prior powder metallurgy or sintering expertise, to improve the design of parts and ramp up production.
