Desktop Metal, a seller of 3D printers and related products, has announced an upgrade to its Live Sinter software–a sinter simulation software that allows the design of sinter-ready, printable parts.
The sinter software is now upgraded with scan-based adjustments and automated correction tools that allow users to fine-tune their design based on one or multiple scans. This improves part accuracy by maintaining deviations within +/- 0.3% as well as avoiding other challenges associated with sintering like distortion and warping while reducing the cost and time associated with supports.
This upgrade allows customers, without any prior powder metallurgy or sintering expertise, to improve the design of parts and ramp up production.
