Nuro partners with Uber Eats for autonomous food deliveries

Partnerships

 • Nuro, an autonomous delivery vehicle (ADV) developer, has entered into a 10-year commercial agreement with Uber to make autonomous food deliveries for Uber Eats customers starting later this year.

 • Initially, the companies will make deliveries in Houston (Texas) and Mountain View (California), with plans to expand into other areas including the greater Bay Area.

Analyst QuickTake: Today’s collaboration adds Uber to Nuro’s growing list of high-profile partners including Kroger, Domino’s, Walmart, FedEx, and 7-Eleven. On a separate note, autonomous last-mile food deliveries are not an entirely new experience for Uber Eats either. It is already conducting pilots in Los Angeles, California, with peer ADV company Motional and droid operator Serve Robotics.
