PureCycle Technologies, a producer of recycled polypropylene resin, has partnered with the Cincinnati Bengals, a professional American football organization, to divert more than 150,000 pieces of plastic waste generated during football games away from landfills as part of the company’s “PureZero” initiative.
According to the partnership, both companies will work together to reduce plastic waste generated from 10 home games in the season which mostly includes No.5 plastic (polypropylene) waste. The collected waste is then recycled into “ultra-pure recycled plastic” (UPR) using PureCycle’s novel processing technology that converts plastic waste into virgin quality plastic.
