Stratasys merge MakerBot with Ultimaker to offer desktop 3D printing solutions

  • Stratasys, a provider of end-to-end additive manufacturing (AM) solutions including the sale of printer systems and on-demand manufacturing services, announced the merging of its subsidiary MakerBot with Ultimaker, a provider of 3D printing solutions backed by NPM Capital, to form a new entity effective August 31, 2022.

  • The new entity will be named Ultimaker, with NPM Capital owning 53.5% of the company and Stratasys owning the remaining 46.5%. Stratasys will not consolidate MakerBot’s financial results from September 1, 2022, as it now owns a minority share of the combined entity.

  • Ultimaker (combined entity) will offer a range of hardware, software, and materials for desktop 3D printing.
