Podimo, a subscription-based podcast and audiobook platform, raised EUR 58.6 million (~USD 58.4 million) in a funding round co-led by 83North, Highland Europe, and Saban Ventures, with participation from existing investors Chr. Augustinus Investment Fund, Heartcore, and Headline. The company reported an increase in its valuation (value undisclosed) and the round brings Podimo’s total funding to ~EUR 162 million (~USD 161.5 million).
The proceeds are to be used for market expansion, content, and investments in tech and products. Notably, the company doubled its headcount in the last two years (currently ~225 employees) and plans to use part of the new funds for hiring.
Podimo is a podcast and audiobook platform, which offers personalized recommendations to listeners while offering creators a share of the revenue from premium subscriptions. It offers both original and licensed podcasts without ads in different locations including Denmark, Germany, Spain, Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, and Latin America.
