Puro.earth, a Finnish startup offering a B2B carbon trading marketplace and a registry for carbon removal credits, granted its audit certification to American BioCarbon, a manufacturer of renewable products made from sugarcane bagasse.
Puro.earth verified American BioCarbon’s biochar and the latter is now certified to sell digital tradable assets called CO2 Removal Certificates (CORCs) in carbon markets.
American BioCarbon’s biochar complies with Puro Standard’s methodology requirements including environmental safeguards. In addition, independent assessors also audited American BioCarbon’s production facility and validated the accuracy of the company’s data. The audit undertaken considers the product life cycle, and requires scientific measurement and quantification of the removed CO2, and its residence time in storage.
