Bowery Farming launches ready-to-eat salad kits

Product updates

  • Bowery Farming, which sells greens and herbs to local restaurants and grocery stores as well as via online channels, has announced the launch of its ready-to-eat salad kits made from vertically produced leafy greens expanding its portfolio beyond vertically produced leafy greens, herbs, and two strawberry varieties.

  • The company is launching three varieties of its salad kits: “Zesty Caesar”, featuring roasted chickpeas and crunchy parm crisps, “Avocado Ranch”, featuring pepitas and tortilla strips, and “Vinaigrette”, featuring pita chips, dried cranberries, and roasted cashews. All of the varieties will include “Crispy Leaf”, Bowery Farming’s version of iceberg lettuce, as the base of the salad.

  • The salad kits will be sold via major distributors such as Baldor Specialty Foods and Four Seasons and via retailers such as Wakefern and Giant Stores on a rolling basis throughout the fall and winter. It will also be available at independent grocers like Eataly in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region starting in September.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Bowery Farming continues to expand and develop its product portfolio. Early last year, the company also launched a new line of flavorful greens called New Farmer’s Selection curated by its R&D team. Recently, in June 2022, Bowery partnered with seed and digital solutions provider Unfold to develop new varieties of lettuce.
