Game studio Theorycraft Games raised USD 50 million in a Series B funding round led by Makers Fund with participation from NEA and Andreessen Horowitz.
The funds are earmarked for hiring and ramping up the development of its first title, Loki, which was revealed to be a team-based competitive adventure game.
Analyst QuickTake : Theorycraft boasts a star-studded lineup of industry veterans who have worked on some of the most popular gaming and esports titles, such as League of Legends, Halo, Destiny, Overwatch, Valorant, and Team Fortress 2. Lightforge Games, a studio of that ilk, recently raised USD 15 million for the development of its first title—a cross-platform role-playing game. Flush with new capital, these industry veterans will go head-to-head in developing the next big esports hit.
