Lordstown Motors, a developer of light-duty battery-electric pickup trucks for commercial fleets, has commenced production of its electric pickup truck “Endurance” in partnership with Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn.
Two vehicles have been manufactured so far, with the third to be completed soon. The company plans to deliver 50 vehicles to customers starting from Q4 2022, and the rest of its first 500-unit batch in 1H 2023. The company is also looking to raise more funds to materialize these goals.
The company plans to slowly ramp up manufacturing to peak in November and December due to supply chain constraints.
Analyst QuickTake: Lordstown Motors closed its contract manufacturing agreement with Foxconn last quarter , following the sale of Lordstown Motors’ only facility in Ohio to the latter in May. The companies also have a joint venture to co-develop electric vehicles.
