Too Good To Go launches its food waste redistribution app in Los Angeles

Geographic expansion

  • Too Good To Go, a Denmark-based company operating a free mobile app that connects customers to restaurants and stores with unsold or surplus food, has announced the launch of its services in Los Angeles (LA) following successful launches across 12 other major cities in the US.

  • Via the app, customers in LA can buy surplus meals from food shops including restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries, and sushi places at one-third of the retail price. Customers can also order a “surprise bag” (a bag of different kinds of food items) from these stores which the company claims to save the carbon footprint equivalent to charging a cellphone 442 times.

  • The company also reported plans to further expand to other major cities in the US in the future.
