Product updates

  • Paravision, a provider of facial recognition software, has introduced an image search engine with an enterprise-grade search function and improved biometric liveness detection capabilities.

  • The new search function will support large databases to handle many requests at once. It also enables tailored searches of sub-galleries. Paravision mentions identity verification, travel and border, government identity program, and event applications as use cases of this new feature.

  • The company has also introduced presentation attack detection capability (a method of detecting biometric spoof attacks) using 2D RGB images, for example, a selfies taken from mobile phones.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Paravision was ranked as the most accurate facial recognition algorithm in the January 2022 one-to-many facial recognition vendor test recording a reduction in error rate by more than 95% over the past three years. It was also commissioned by the US Department of Defense (DoD) in March for a data readiness program. The company also recently received funding for a government deepfake detection program.
