Umincorp, a Dutch-based plastic recycling company that offers waste sorting and recycling technologies, has raised EUR 5 million (~USD 5 million) in debt financing from Nationaal Groenfonds.
The funds will be used to finance the construction of the company’s new recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) plastic plant in Rotterdam, Netherlands and optimize its PRA sorting and recycling facility in Amsterdam to run at full capacity. The company also reported plans to build a new combined sorting, recycling, and compounding facility in or close to the Netherlands.
Analyst QuickTake : This funding follows the EUR 15 million (~USD 15 million) the company raised in a funding round in December 2021 . The previously raised funds were also allocated for the construction of its Rotterdam rPET facility, with plans to complete construction by 2022 and generate recycled plastic raw materials for plastic producers once the facility begins operations. However, Umincorp is yet to complete the construction of the facility.
