Do Good Foods, a New Jersey-based meat producer that upcycles surplus food from grocery stores and supermarkets for use as nutrient-dense animal feed, has partnered with Compass Group, a global contract foodservice company based in the UK, to supply its sustainable “Do Good Chicken” to Compass Group.
Via the partnership, Do Good Chicken will be featured in the menus of cafes and event venues at Google and Condé Nast and other food service locations of Compass Group. Do Good Chicken will also be served in select hospitality venues at the US Open Tennis Championships.
The company reported that during the first six months of operation of its Do Good Chicken brand, the company has diverted more than 10 million pounds of surplus food from landfills, reducing the equivalent of 950 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
Through the partnership, Compass Group will reportedly be the first national food service company to partner with Do Good Foods.
Analyst QuickTake : This is the latest addition to the company’s list of supply partnerships which includes catering companies such as Carroll Couture Cuisine and restaurant Spice Finch. Do Good Foods has reported plans to build 20 Do Good Chicken production facilities and expand its product range beyond chicken by 2025.
