FreeWire Technologies, a startup offering DC fast-charging infrastructure for EVs, has partnered with Voltus, a company that has developed a software technology platform connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets.
Under this partnership, FreeWire will be providing flexible battery charging load to utilities and wholesale electricity markets in North America which will also create additional revenue opportunities for the company’s client base.
As an initial step, battery-integrated EV supply equipment (EVSE) will be dispatched by Pacific Gas & Electric (“PG&E”) to provide support to the California Independent System Operator (ISO) so as to mitigate the risk of blackouts.
