NIO, an NYSE-listed Chinese EV manufacturer, announced its planned products and services for Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden at its European launch event in Berlin.
Following NIO’s entry into Norway in 2021, the company has now decided to make available its three vehicle models ET7, EL7, and ET5 in these markets. The ET7, its flagship sedan, is now available for order with deliveries due to start on October 16th, while its EL7, a mid-large electric SUV, and ET5, its mid-size electric sedan, are open for pre-orders, with deliveries set to start in January and March 2023, respectively.
Furthermore, the company’s subscription models will be made available. Available from 1-60 months, users can choose a NIO model suited to them with insurance, maintenance, winter tires, a courtesy car, and battery swapping as well as the flexibility to upgrade battery services included in the package.
NIO is also establishing battery charging services in these markets, with the company currently having access to 380,000 charging points in Europe and plans to build 20 Power Swap Stations (PSS) in Europe in 2022. The company will further expand this to reach 120 in 2023, with the goal of locating the majority of the 1,000 PSS to be built outside China, in Europe by 2025.
The company will be using its direct-to-consumer model in these markets, with plans to open more NIO Houses in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Gothenburg. In addition to this, the company has established a network of authorized service centers.
