Zwipe receives its largest order from unnamed global smartcard manufacturer

Partnerships

  • Zwipe, a biometric payment card inlay provider, received a commercial order worth USD 225,000, from an unnamed smartcard manufacturer, reportedly one of the largest in the world. The shipment is targeted for Q4 2022.

  • The deal is reportedly Zwipe’s largest single commercial order, and the company claims this is a part of a larger order expected in 2023.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The growing commercial orders were likely supported by Zwipe’s recent approvals from global payment networks, Visa (March 2022) and Mastercard (August 2022) . Since Zwipe got these approvals, it has helped its users obtain approvals for their respective biometric payment cards, taking them a step closer to commercialization. For instance, in May 2022, Inkript announced that its biometric payment card, featuring Zwipe Pay, received Visa’s letter of approval (LoA).
