Blackbird Foods debuts new line of plant-based chicken wings

Product updates

  • Blackbird Foods, a New-York based startup producing plant-based foods, announced the launching of a new line of WINGS. A limited batch of the products will be available on the brand’s website with a retail rollout planned by end of 2022.

  • The new range, made using Blackbird’s signature wheat-based protein–seitan, is claimed to be similar in taste and appearance to a traditional chicken wing with a crispy outside and a tender inside while being non-GMO, kosher, and cholesterol free.

  • Sold frozen in 12oz bags, WINGS are available in buffalo and Korean BBQ flavors and is priced at USD 60 for a case of 6 (172% more expensive than Walmart’s Great value buffalo wings). According to the company, the product can be baked or air-fried.
