Desktop Metal partners with Siemens to accelerate sustainable additive manufacturing at scale

Partnerships

  • Desktop Metal, a seller of 3D printers and related products, announced a partnership with Siemens to accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing at scale specifically targeting large-scale manufacturers.

  • Through the partnership, Siemens’ portfolio of IoT-enabled hardware, software, and digital services will be integrated with Desktop metal’s operations to improve simulation and planning for machine and factory design.

  • The two companies will also work together to promote additive manufacturing, with a focus on binder jetting technology to reduce waste, increase production, and streamline supply chain operations.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Desktop Metal is the highest-funded company in our coverage of the additive manufacturing space. The partnership with Siemens will help the company to promote its metal binder jetting technology which was upgraded in August this year. With Siemens’ backing, this would also improve expansion opportunities for Desktop Metal through the ability to reach large-scale manufacturers while streamlining operations.
