MissionGo, a provider of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) solutions for inspections and delivery, has received approval for its airworthiness criteria from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its drone model “MG Velos 100.”
The airworthiness certification signifies that an aircraft meets the approved type design and is safe for operation.
The company is currently in the process of obtaining Type Certification (approval of the aircraft design and components), and meeting the airworthiness criteria comes as a part of the process. The company expects to obtain Production Certification (approval to manufacture the product), and Part 135 Certification (permits commercial deliveries on a trial basis) in the future.
Maryland-based MissionGo provides pilot-controlled UAS solutions for inspections and delivery with a focus on human organ transportation, as well as training and guidance for UAS startups. MissionGo operates in tandem with its sister company, MediGo, to facilitate monitoring the status of flights and organs via GPS.
