Roslin Technologies, a Scottish cultivated meat company, announced it has achieved a breakthrough–with support from the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Center (IBioIC)–in scaling up production of cultivated pork by eliminating variations between batches during cell growth leading to a 61% cost reduction.
The company plans to enter into partnerships with cultivated meat producers and apply its methods to larger bioreactors and initiate industrial-scale production.
According to Roslin’s CEO Ernst van Orsouw, the company also plans to produce cultivated haggis by 2023.
