ABTC receives USD 57 million grant from US Department of Energy

Funding

  • American Battery Technology Company (ABTC), a Nasdaq-listed integrated battery materials supplier, has been awarded a USD 57 million grant by the US Department of Energy under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

  • The grant will provide funding for ABTC to construct a USD 115 million commercial-scale facility to manufacture battery-grade lithium hydroxide from Nevada-based sedimentary resources.

  • Founded in 2011, American Battery Technology Company uses innovative processing technology to supply low-cost, low-environmental impact, and domestically sourced battery metals to the US. The company recycles lithium-ion batteries back to cathode-grade and operates three core divisions; lithium-ion battery recycling, primary battery metal extraction technologies, and primary resources development. The company supplies these battery metals for EVs’ electrical grid storage and consumer electronic industries.
