Einride, a Swedish tech developer for autonomous and electric trucks, has unveiled its latest line of product offerings that include second-generation autonomous electric truck charging stations called “Einride Stations,” and extended use applications for its truck operating system “Einride Saga.”
Its second-generation truck can now carry a larger payload and includes updated optics from sensors and updated maximum speed and night vision capabilities. Einride’s autonomous vehicle operating interface was also updated to ensure optimal remote operator comfort and easier manufacturing and scalability. The company expects to deploy the units at customer sites next year.
Initially, the company plans to locate its first charging station in the US near the Port of LA, with construction slated for 2023. The station can serve up to 200 vehicles and will be available for both Einride customers and third-party fleets once when operational. The company has already opened charging stations in Sweden–its local market.
The company also announced the availability of its intelligent freight mobility platform Einride Saga for general use regardless of whether the user is an Einride customer or not. The platform can generate operational KPIs, track progress toward achieving emission targets and provide actionable operational insights using data gathered from customers’ transport ecosystem.
Einride is also serving as the autonomous tech partner in the “MODI Project,” a EUR 28 million project co-funded by the European Union and coordinated by Norwegian authorities that is aimed toward introducing heavy-duty autonomous transport systems in Norway.
