AMP Robotics, a Colorado-based startup offering waste sorting robots, raised USD 91 million in corporate equity in a Series C funding round led by Congruent Ventures and Wellington Management. New investors and existing investors Blue Earth Capital, Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners, Tao Capital Partners, XN, Sequoia Capital, GV, Range Ventures, and Valor Equity Partners also joined the round of funding.
The funds will be used for upscaling its business operations, enhancing manufacturing capacity to support deploying approximately 275 robots globally and to further developing its technology for AI-enabled automation applications for recycling such as AMP VortexTM. The new funds also will be used for international expansion as well as for further growth within the US.
Analyst QuickTake: This funding is the highest the company has raised thus far and brings the company’s total funding raised to USD 167.1 million. The company is working on expanding its presence globally while also strengthening its waste management solutions beyond sorting robots. AMP Robotics has been working on building sorting and recycling facilities that will use its AI-based technology for material recovery. AMP Robotics has deployed 15 robotic sorting facilities as of March 2022 and mentioned plans to introduce additional facilities during 2H 2022.
