Substack launches new chat feature

Product updates

  • Substack, an online newsletter publishing platform, has launched Substack Chat, a new feature that allows its creators to engage in conversations directly with their followers. 

  • The feature which is currently available in Substack’s iOS app aims to facilitate natural conversations and build networks between creators and readers. The user interface is designed similarly to a traditional chat app and creators have moderation options to decide the tone, topic, and participants of the conversations. 

  • Analyst QuickTake : Substack is hoping to capitalize on Twitter’s disruption following its acquisition by Elon Musk, which has caused several prominent users to leave Twitter in protest. Recently , Substack also openly reached out to creators on Twitter to bring their following to Substack.
