Sabanto, a Chicago-based startup offering autonomous driving system solutions for tractors, has received an investment (amount undisclosed) from Cooperative Ventures, a Illinois-based venture capital fund formed as a joint venture between CHS and GROWMARK.
The funding will support the company’s mission to introduce autonomy in agricultural machines. The company is currently developing retro-fit solutions for 60-horsepower (hp) to 200-hp tractors to operate autonomously across multiple field operations, including planting, tillage, spraying, and mowing.
Analyst QuickTake : This announcement follows the company’s August 2022 USD 17 million Series A funding round raised to support multiple areas including scaling its operations and making it more affordable for farmers. Sabanto’s approach to autonomy is unique compared to its rivals, where the company offers low-cost retrofits that integrate into existing machinery, regardless of make or model, to transform them into autonomous agricultural machines.
