Alcatraz AI expands into Europe and Middle Eastern Markets

Geographic expansion

  • Alcatraz AI, a facial recognition-based access control systems developer, announced its expansion into the European and Middle Eastern markets.

  • The European and Middle Eastern offices will be led by Bodil Nilsen and Shaun Oakes, respectively. The new offices are expected to offer interactions with experienced sales professionals on the ground to enable fast adoption of Alcatraz products and solutions.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Funds necessary for this expansion were raised in September when the company raised USD 25 million in a Series A round. On a separate note, in August 2021 Alcatraz also partnered with Switched On Space to introduce its autonomous access control to international markets mainly by leveraging its customer base in the UK and European markets.
