8 Rivers, an American carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) technology developer, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with JX Nippon, a Japanese oil and gas exploration company, to evaluate the US Gulf Coast for the commercial deployment of sustainable infrastructure.
Under the agreement, JX and 8 Rivers will develop a CO2-rich natural gas calibration program. The project will utilize unusable fuel to produce clean energy while sequestering CO2 by leveraging 8 River’s proprietary DAC calcite process.
This partnership extends the two companies previously signed a comprehensive collaboration agreement in November 2021, to identify and develop carbon capture solutions.
