Excel Esports acquires the assets of esports learning platform Hitcap

M&A

  • Excel Esports, a UK-based esports team organization, has acquired the assets of Hitcap, an esports e-learning platform. As part of the acquisition, Excel will also take control of Hitcap’s social media, content archive, and learning products. This is the second education-related acquisition by Excel.

  • Founded in 2020, Hitcap’s e-learning platform, which focuses on League of Legends, integrates with game clients (a network that connects an individual user to the main game server) and provides an in-game evaluation of player performance in addition to a complete rundown on how it should be played.  Through the deal, Excel is expecting to leverage Hitcap’s combined social media followers of 500,000 to boost its social media and online presence, and will also rebrand Hitcap’s social media. Further, Excel is expecting to produce guides, pro tips, and vlogs through the former Hitcap channels.
