Waabi unveils its first-generation self-driving truck technology

Product updates

  • Waabi, a Canadian company developing self-driving trucks, has unveiled its first generation of purpose-built heavy-duty trucks powered by its self-driving technology “Waabi Driver” for OEM integration.

  • Reportedly, the trucks appeared to have been built by Peterbilt, however, the OEM partner was not confirmed by the company. Waabi plans to integrate Waabi Driver into vehicles at the factory level in the future.

  • The company intends to deploy the first batch of trucks for data collection, testing, and commercial pilots. The company is already working with commercial partners whose names are to be announced soon.

  • Waabi’s business model is not finalized but is likely to be a driver-as-a-service model where the company will integrate Waabi Driver in partnership with OEMs and offer its service to fleet customers and shippers.
