BetterVet raises USD 40 million in Series A funding

Funding

  • BetterVet, a Boston-based mobile and telehealth veterinary startup, raised USD 40 million in a Series A funding round led by Alta Partners and Bruce Herzfelder, (CEO of BetterVet and co-founder of BetterVet and VetCor). As a result of the investment, Pete Hudson (managing director of Alta Partners) and Dan Adams (CEO of VetCor) will be joining the company’s board of directors.

  • The company plans to utilize the funds to broaden its network of mobile care in current markets, enter new ones, and introduce new services. The platform is currently deployed in 25 markets including Boston, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The fresh funding received strengthens the firm focus on providing concierge-style, at-home veterinary care in an effort to increase its market share. In May 2022, the business purchased Vets Here, a mobile veterinary service provider, to broaden its offering of at-home services.
