Immersive video editing platform Arcturus raises USD 11 million in Series A funding

  • Arcturus, a volumetric technology developer, has raised USD 11 million in a Series A funding round led by Cloudtree Ventures with participation from Autodesk and Epic Games. This brings the company’s total funding to USD 16 million. 

  • The proceeds will be used to further develop its flagship platform “Holosuite”’ and to expand its research in new AI tools and technologies. 

  • Arcturus is the developer of “Holosuite”, a platform for volumetric video editing and distribution which allows the creation of immersive live-action performances. Holosuite contains tools including HoloEdit, HoloCompute, and HoloStream to edit, compress, and stream volumetric videos. The company is planning to introduce volumetric technology to the metaverse which is currently used by companies such as Warner Media and VIVE. 

  • Analyst QuickTake : Arcturus is likely to compete with Yoom which uses AI and its proprietary neural networks and volumetric capture to create immersive and photorealistic digital content and experiences. It recently raised USD 15 million to expand its team and invest in research and development and expects to establish location-based entertainment services in the future.
