Flipdish, an Irish developer of white-label food ordering platforms for restaurants, raised EUR 40 million (USD 49 million) in funding from Tiger Global Management. This brings its total funding to EUR 47.5 million (USD 58 million).
The funds will be used to expand its international presence, continue product development, and gather new restaurant customers (both independent and larger food chains).
The company claims its goal (made last December) of increasing its headcount by 300 over the next two years remains on target. The company operates in 15 countries, including Ireland, France, the UK, and Spain. Although it has operations in the US, its key focus is Europe.
Founded in 2015, Flipdish allows restaurants to manage their own food ordering platforms (customized branded site and app) for both delivery and pickup, instead of using third-party platforms such as Uber Eats and Deliveroo. The restaurants benefit from the company’s more than 100 integrations, including third-party delivery service providers. The company’s clientele includes both independent food businesses and larger chains and franchises such as Subway and Wagamama. As of February 2021, the company had over 3,000 customers, more than 150 global employees, and 4 million users.
