Gander, a UK-based platform that sells discounted short-dated food items from retailers to consumers, partnered with Independent UK retailer Guy Warner to reduce food waste in his latest flagship store of Warner’s Supermarkets in Upton-Upon-Severn, by delivering real-time information on reduced stock to the customers.
Gander’s app will be used to deliver live data on Warner’s price fluctuations to its customers, while the Gander analytics platform will be used to gather data and insights on customer shopping habits, enabling the company to reduce overall food wastage.
Analyst QuickTake: Gander is partnering with more than 450 food stores, including The Co-op, PriceWatch retail stores , and Henderson Group stores such as Spar, Eurospar, and ViVo. With this new partnership, Gander and Warner’s supermarkets plan to collaboratively spread awareness among other retailers on the app’s potential and its ability to seamlessly integrate with the existing processes and systems.
