UNLESS Collective, an Oregon-based fashion brand that uses plant-based materials, partnered with Natural Fiber Welding (NFW), a technology company that develops textiles using recycled plants and natural fibers, to launch the world’s first regenerative sneaker called the “DEGENERATE”.
DEGENERATE is 100% plant and mineral based and is designed to decompose at the end of its life. The shoe features NFW’s PLIANT material for the outsole, TUNERA foam for the internal midsole, CLARUS, for the vamp and quarter, and MIRUM for the eyelet and mudguard. UNLESS claims that the shoe is durable, comfortable, and contains zero plastics and petrochemicals compared to conventional sustainable footwear.
The shoe is available for purchase online at UNLESS’s website starting from USD 139.
