Allied Esports reports single-digit revenue growth; adjusted EBITDA losses improve

Earnings/results

  • Allied Esports reported a net loss per share of USD 0.04 in Q3 2022, compared with a loss of USD 0.08 in Q3 2021. Total revenue declined by 7% YoY to USD 1.6 million in Q3 2022 from USD 1.7 million in Q3 2021, while QoQ revenue rose 35% from USD 1.2 million. The reduction in multi-platform content revenues as a result of lower live streaming events resulted in the YoY decline, while the increase in proprietary and third-party production events at its esports arena led to the QoQ improvement.

  • In-person revenue accounted for the bulk (~99%) of total revenue and grew 7% YoY to USD 1.6 million from 1.5 million in Q3 2021. Event revenue, a sub-segment of in-person revenue, witnessed 51% QoQ growth as third-party events increased (+23% QoQ) following pandemic lows. Adjusted EBITDA losses also improved to USD 1.8 million in Q3 2022, compared with a loss of USD 3.0 million in Q3 2021.
