Fortius Metals raises USD 2 million in seed funding

Funding

  • Fortius Metals, a developer of materials for additive manufacturing, raised USD 2 million in seed funding led by AM Ventures.

  • The funds will be used to accelerate growth, scale the company’s manufacturing capacity, and accelerate its go-to-market strategy.

  • Founded in 2021, Fortius Metals is a spin-off from Elementum 3D that is focused on making metal alloys for the use of additive manufacturing in aerospace, automotive, and defense applications. The company was formed to develop nanostructured metal alloy wires to tap new markets and products.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Being a spin-off from Elementum 3D, Fortius has already patented its technology. The company’s focus on robotic additive manufacturing applications will allow them to expand in different market segments and types of products. On a separate note, a similar company AM 4 AM entered into a partnership with Pint to design and produce prototypes made of aluminum alloy.
