Horizon Europe, the EU’s key funding program for research and innovation, has announced a EUR 25 million (~USD 26 million) grant that will fund three projects in the space of fermented and cultivated proteins.
The funding will be split between the “microbiome for flavor and texture in the organoleptic dietary shirt,” “impact of the development of novel foods based on alternative sources of protein,” and “cultured meat and cultured seafood-state of play and future projects in the EU” projects. The first two will receive EUR 9 million (~USD 9.5 million) each and the third will receive EUR 7 million (~USD 7.4 million).
